Message from the Board:
College Planning Association believes that every student and their family should take the right steps in preparing for college. All too often students and families rush into making rash decisions, sometimes with dire consequences. Unfortunately, most students leave all of their college decisions to their senior year of high school.
This leaves little time to make an informed decision that meets the needs and goals of the student and family. Often the student makes decisions on the belief that they will pick a school that they feel will cause the least amount of stress on their parents and family. These types of decisions occur far too frequently and can result in higher drop out rates or unsatisfied college experiences.
Clearly understanding the student’s strengths and interests are key in the ultimate goal of obtaining a degree and entering into a successful and fulfilling career. College Planning Association offers several tools within the program to help students and their families determine the proper path and institution to reach that goal.
College planning ideally needs to start by the freshman year of high school; this allows the family to make sure that their student will meet the minimum acceptance standards for the Colleges and Universities they are considering. Having the knowledge of what schools might be a good fit for the student prior to senior year allows for family campus visits.
Early college planning allows the family choices and the peace-of-mind that they have done everything to prepare for one of the student’s major life events. When you work with the College Planning Association as you enter your senior year, the planning – for the most part — has been done, and it is simply time to apply to college.
Using our strategies and techniques, we strive to obtain the maximum amount of financial aid you receive while minimizing your out-of-pockets costs – regardless of how much money your family makes. In fact, we specialize in working with families that can’t qualify for need-based assistance.
Through our advice and guidance, these high-earning families and students generally receive endowments of $4,000 to $10,000 per year of college assistance. Included in the program is a coaching staff that will be available to answer questions and ensure that the student and family stay on track to maximizing the programs benefits relative to their individual situation.
College Planning Association will work hand-in-hand to help students get through college faster than the average college student, put graduates on a path to employment, and show parents how to pay for college without sacrificing their own retirement in the mean time.
We are keenly aware of the financial pressures on families and the need for higher education. College Planning Association addresses these issues head-on in a no-nonsense approach so that the path to success is clear and obtainable.
As most of our employees and volunteers are parents themselves, they understand and appreciate the challenges families and students are faced with. We invite you to use our services and know you will be pleased with our service. We look forward to helping you and your student reach the goal of a successful completion of a higher education.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors, College Planning Association
